What Type Of Routines Would You Learn In A Dance Crew?

The type of routines you learn in a dance would be determined primarily by the style the dance crew specializes in!

A hip hop crew will be hip-hop, a bboy crew will be bboyin', a contemporary group will be contemporary.

What you can expect is for the routines to be varied. It is not uncommon even for the group to have various choreographers that creat different routines for performances.

The reason the routines are likely to be varied is that there will be standard routines, and also groups pieces where everyone is involved.

If you repeat the same idea again and again on stage the audience is likely to become bored so the routines need to be varied - a reason why there may be more than one choreographer.

The more choreographers that contribute in a group, the more varied the routines you will learn.

If you are thinking of joining or auditioning for a dance troupe you will get an idea of what types of routines you will learn by watching their performances.

There are also many dance crews that will have routines in lots of different dance styles. So they may train all the dancers in these styles and you'll get to learn something new!

They may just choose the best dancers to perform these styles, or they may work at getting everyone up to a standard where they can perform them well.

Other groups like to specialize in just one style, and find other ways to keep things interesting on stage.
